Black History Month Project

Dear Parents,  February is Black History Month, and our students are going to celebrate it in the most exciting way. Students will research their randomly selected African American, create a poster with all of the information included, and give a 1-2 minute speech about their assigned person.  Students will turn in their posters on Friday, February 22, 2019. Our presentations will take place on Monday, February 25th during students’ class time. I will be inviting other grade levels to attend, and I would love if you could join us.  In this packet, I have included a suggested timeline for the project, a research recording sheet, resource log, poster information, and rubric. Students should return their recording sheet and resource log with their poster on February 22.  I look forward to celebrating Black History Month with the students, and I can’t wait to see the incredible projects! If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email at  cnkreger@memphis.
